Web committee

We are currently backing up our Drupal database (MySQL) using Drupal's "Backup and Migrate" module (http://drupal.org/project/backup_migrate).

This is adequate, but we would like a more robust backup solution. You can help us by either installing a package or writing shell scripts to improve the automation in our backup process, covering MySQL databases (for multiple subdomains) and files.

Thanks!

Help the Professional chapter improve how we manage mailing lists!

We currently have mailing lists set up on our webhost (based in EZMLM, http://www.ezmlm.org/). This is an adequate solution, but can be a bit awkward when it comes to maintaining the mailing lists.

Help us investigate alternate mailing list systems, such as Dada Mail (http://dadamailproject.com/). We'd like a solution where is is easy to add/update lists and members of lists.

Thanks!

We are in the process of setting up an Alfresco document-management system alongside our Drupal-based website, both to run on a Virtual Private Server (VPS), for use by our project teams.

You can assist in this effort by helping create a test installation of Drupal and Alfresco in a Linux environment (either Debian-based on RHEL-based distribution). Once we've tested, and have a VPS set up for our existing website, we will go ahead and install Alfresco.

In addition, we want to make sure that we are properly securing the Linux environment on the VPS, so confirming that we have properly firewalled and secured the OS will be important.

Note that we are also willing to consider other document management solutions -- feel free to make suggestions to volunteer@ewb-pugetsound.org.

Thanks!
